When you think of trash the dress shoots, your mind probably goes to oceans or waterfalls, but how about the golden dunes of the Dubai desert?
That’s exactly what Liesel and Tim had in mind when they booked us at Nordic Vows, and what an unforgettable adventure it turned out to be!

Just two days earlier, I had photographed their beautiful wedding in another desert, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The couple had already fallen in love with the sweeping landscapes, so when they asked if we could return for a trash the dress shoot. I was all in! And then I heard that there was going to be camels and I nearly fainted! YES YES YES! 

A 4×4 Desert Adventure

Late afternoon rolled around and we packed into two 4x4s, along with a small crew of friends, a cooler of chilled champagne, and plenty of excitement. The drive through the dunes is an adventure all on its own, bouncing through endless golden waves, with the Dubai skyline far behind us.

Our first destination? Two beautiful camels, calmly waiting in a picture perfect part of the desert. Liesel and Tim popped the first bottle of bubbly (with cheers all round) and we began capturing moments of pure joy, flowing dress, wild laughter, champagne sprays, and even a few playful shots with the camels themselves.

As golden hour set in, the desert became pure magic. We climbed higher into the dunes with our little caravan of friends, chasing the fading light. The sky turned from molten gold to soft pinks and purples, giving us the most spectacular backdrop.

Liesel and Tim danced, embraced, and ran through the sand barefoot, while the last of the champagne was poured and toasted. The energy was pure happiness no timelines, no pressure, just two newlyweds soaking up this incredible moment in one of the world’s most beautiful places.

It’s shoots like these that remind me why I love what I do at Nordic Vows , when adventure meets love, the magic is undeniable.
