This is a very very busy waterfall and its best to plan your ceremony early morning or late in the evening when the tour busses are not operating.

Seljalandsfoss:
Want something a little more unique? Seljalandsfoss is famous because you can walk behind it! Imagine saying your vows with a curtain of water cascading behind you, truly magical (and slightly misty!).

Kvernufoss:
Tucked away near Skógafoss, Kvernufoss is a hidden gem. Less crowded and equally stunning, this intimate spot feels like your own secret slice of Icelandic paradise. This waterfall is one of my absolutely favourites!

Háifoss:
One of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland, Háifoss plunges into a dramatic canyon. It’s a bit more remote, requiring a 4×4 and some adventure spirit, but the reward is an unforgettable elopement location away from the crowds. LOVE THIS waterfall!

Gljúfrabúi:
Hidden inside a canyon near Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi offers a private, magical atmosphere. If you’re ready to get a little wet and step into a secret world, this is the perfect spot.

Things to Know Before You Go

• Be Prepared for Spray: Waterfalls = mist. Lots of it. Be ready for your dress, hair, and even your face to get a little damp, but honestly, it only adds to the wild, adventurous feeling.

• Dress Smart: Wear layers under your wedding attire to stay warm. Waterproof boots are a must, and they actually look amazing in adventure photos!

• Safety First: Always respect the natural environment. Iceland’s terrain can be slippery and unpredictable, so stick to marked paths and trust your photographer (that’s me!) to guide you to safe, stunning spots.
